Scope every claim to the tested package rather than the fiber concept.
Can a grease-resistant coated package still be compostable?
Yes, if the coating itself is compostable and the finished product is certified. Compostability standards such as ASTM D6400 evaluate the finished product, so a certificate must list the exact coated SKU — a coating added after certification makes it a new product needing its own verification. Confirm the certificate covers the item exactly as it ships.
