The rule that makes the whole table work: require every quote to be returned against this sheet, with a deviations column. Tolerance, Barrier and Food Contact Language Buyers Should Demand
Three clauses separate a prototype-stage RFQ from a production-grade one.

The food-contact line is the one buyers most often leave vague, and it is the one an auditor will ask for by product. A finished molded pulp tray is not covered by a generic "food grade" claim: the fiber, the coating and the ink each carry their own status, and the statement must name the finished SKU. Ask for it in the RFQ and it arrives with the samples instead of with a retail audit eighteen months later.
Tolerance deserves the same discipline. A ±0.5 mm band on a nesting tray is generous; on a lid seat or a heat-seal lip it is not, and the acceptance question is always the same one — measured on what, with what gauge, on how many pieces. Buyers who leave commercial mechanics to the contract stage pay for it in rework. Put them in the RFQ and every supplier prices the same risk.
